E-Filing for registered users

To access this e-filing service, you should be registered for MRA e-services. Your income tax form will be pre-filled with data currently available to MRA. You will have the possibility to change the information in the form before sending. You may also save a draft copy if you have not completed the filing exercise and later be able to retrieve the saved draft copy to complete the filing exercise.

Under this e-filing service, a blank form will be made available and should be duly filled in by you. Please insert a valid email address in order to obtain an acknowledgement confirming that your return has been received by MRA.

General Information
To use the e-filing facility, you must have Adobe Reader version 8.0(or above) or click here to download. For taxpayers using "Google Chrome" , please click on "Yes" when message "open with Adobe Reader"
is displayed. For taxpayers using "Mozilla Firefox" , please click on the "Open with Different Viewer" button and then choose to open with Adobe Reader.
General Information for Electronic Filing of Individual Income Tax Returns and Payment of tax
Ensure that you have all the required information before you begin. No document need to be submitted if you file electronically, but ensure that all required information are inserted. While filing your income tax return, please insert a valid e-mail address in order to obtain an acknowledgment confirming that your return has been received by MRA for further processing. Only the first Income Tax Form sent electronically will be processed. In case you wish to amend your return, kindly phone on our hotline 2076010 for an Income Tax Form or call at MRA service counter, Ehram Court, Port Louis.
Tax Payable
On completion of your Income Tax Form, tax payable will appear at Section 1 DECLARATION under PAYMENT OF TAX.
Mode of Payment
The payment can be effected as follows:
- Internet Banking
Payment can be effected through Internet Banking via the following banks: Afrasia Bank, Bank One, Barclays bank, Bramer Banking Corporation, HSBC, MCB, MPCB, SBI and SBM.
Note: For internet banking facility you should register with your bank.

To make use of this payment facility, you should fill in a "Direct Debit Application Form" available here or MRA Service Counter and send it to MRA Head Office by 20 March 2013 at latest (office hours) for onward processing to your bank.Taxpayers who have already avail themselves to this payment facility, need not fill in a new "Direct Debit Application Form".
- Cash / Cheque
- Payment may be made by cash or cheque at MRA cash counters, Ehram Court, Port Louis, from Monday to Friday (09.00 hrs to 15.30 hrs). Please ensure you have your Tax Account Number (TAN), the amount of tax, NPF and NSF (separately) while effecting payment.
- Cheques drawn to the order of the Director General MRA crossed "MRA A/C" or "Account Payee Only" may be sent by post. Please write your name, Tax Account Number (TAN) and the Assessment year on verso of cheque. The cheque should reach the MRA Headquarters, Ehram Court, Port Louis by 8th April 2013 at latest.
- Payment may be made by cash or cheque at MRA cash counters, Ehram Court, Port Louis, from Monday to Friday (09.00 hrs to 15.30 hrs). Please ensure you have your Tax Account Number (TAN), the amount of tax, NPF and NSF (separately) while effecting payment.

ATM
Taxpayers having an account at the State Bank of Mauritius Ltd (SBM) may pay the income tax due by using the ATM service of the bank. For more information you may visit SBM website: http://www.sbmgroup.mu

SMS
Taxpayers may pay their income tax due by SMS using Orange Money Service. For more information please visit Orange website : http://www.orange.mu
Tax paid in excess :- Refund
"Where the Income Tax Form shows a TAX PAID IN EXCESS, that is a negative balance, after processing, MRA will either credit your bank account mentioned on the registration form for e-services if you have selected this option or send a crossed Cheque to your residential address."
Due Date
The return should be submitted at latest on 08 April 2013. An extension up to 15 April 2013 will be applicable where the return is filed electronically and payment, if any, is effected through Internet Banking, ATM, payment through SMS (Orange Money).
Change in Personal Data
In case there are changes in your personal data, either you can change the data using the registration service for MRA e-services or kindly fill in a "Personal Data Change Form", available here or MRA Service Counter and send it to MRA.
